This law makes cancer treatment and care more affordable and accessible, especially for poor Filipinos, by providing timely access to optimal cancer treatment and care to help reduce the high mortality rate caused by the said disease.

It also expands PhilHealth packages for Filipinos diagnosed with cancer and mandates the establishment of the Philippine Cancer Center to ensure access to cancer care services and medicines.
