Former Senator and senatorial candidate Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan on Tuesday received strong support from local leaders in Laguna, earning the endorsements of 17 mayors from the province.
Pangilinan was endorsed by 15 municipal mayors during his meeting with the League of Municipalities of Laguna held at the Pila Municipal Hall.
Among those who endorsed Pangilinan were Mayors Edgardo A. Ramos (Pila), Jose O. Padrid (Bay), Lorenzo B. Rellosa (Famy), Sandy P. Laganapan (Kalayaan), Ildefonso D. Monleon (Liliw), Rolando G. Ubatay (Lumban), Jomapher U. Alvarez (Luisiana), Alberto S. Reyes (Mabitac), Romeo P. Amorado (Majayjay), Elmor V. Vita (Nagcarlan), Ronald S. Cosico (Paete), Cesar V. Areza (Pagsanjan), Gerald A. Aritao (Pangil), Vener P. Muñoz (Rizal), and Patrick Ellis Z. Go (Siniloan).
Pangiinan also received the backing of Binan Mayor Arman Dimaguila Jr. and Vice Mayor Gel Alonte, and Pakil Mayor Vince Soriano during separate courtesy visits.
In addition, mayoral bets Cesar Articona (Magdalena) and Corazon Olmeda (Victoria) also expressed support for the former Senator.
“Tayo’y lubos na nagpapasalamat sa mga endorsement na ating nakuha dito sa Laguna. Napakalaking bagay nito, lalo’t ilang araw na lang ay halalan na,” Pangilinan said.
“Makakaasa kayo na tututukan natin ang lalo pang pagpapalakas sa sektor ng agrikultura ng Laguna kapag tayo’y nakabalik sa Senado,” he added.
As part of his Laguna campaign swing, Pangilinan paid a courtesy call on Mayor Arlene Arcillas of Sta. Rosa and attended the Turumba Festival at the New Pakil Municipal Hall.
