Independent senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan dares Malacanang to identify culprits in recent bomb explosions in Maguindanao and the Office of the Ombudsman, as well as bomb supposedly found in the Department of Agriculture today.
“We challenge this government to find the culprits and place them behind bars, lest it be accused of being behind these acts meant to create the atmosphere of instability and chaos,” says Pangilinan.
Pangilinan is wary of the succession of perception of dissent in different areas of the country.
“This may be the handiwork of people out to derail the nation’s march towards a smooth and democratic transfer of power in 2010. Only those who wish to create chaos and justify anti-democratic measures such as the imposition of martial rule will gain from these acts. Our people should be vigilant given these disturbing developments. We should be ready to vigorously oppose the devious and scheming designs of those desperate to cling on to power beyond 2010.”
