Senator Kiko Pangilinan engaged with farmers in Talavera, Nueva Ecija, alongside students from Alalay sa Kaunlaran Inc. (ASKI), a microfinance and development organization dedicated to supporting local communities.
During the gathering, Senator Kiko acknowledged ASKI as one of the pioneering partners of the Sagip Saka Act, working alongside Jollibee Foods Corporation, the local government, and other key stakeholders in Nueva Ecija. He emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration in strengthening agricultural initiatives and ensuring direct market access for farmers.
Among those he met was Weng, a “second generation” local farmer from Talavera and a dedicated youth volunteer. As a gesture of appreciation, she together with her co-farmers presented Senator Kiko with fresh produce as a token of appreciation, reflecting the gratitude of the farming community for his continued advocacy and support.
