I express my full support for the conduct of the first regular parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) this coming October 2025.


This is more than just an electoral exercise—it is a historic milestone in the continuing journey toward lasting peace, genuine autonomy, and inclusive development in Mindanao.


The success of the BARMM elections will not only strengthen democratic institutions in the region but also uphold the hopes of generations who have long fought for self-determination, dignity, and progress. It is a promise we must all help fulfill.


I call on all stakeholders—from the Bangsamoro Transition Authority to the Commission on Elections, civil society groups, and the national government—to ensure free, fair, and credible elections. Let us protect the people’s right to choose their leaders and define their future.


As a legislator and longtime advocate for peace and food security in Mindanao, I stand in solidarity with our Bangsamoro brothers and sisters. May the October elections serve as a powerful affirmation that peace and democracy can thrive—when we choose participation over violence, and unity over division.


We strengthen democracy by practicing and acting it out.
