In barnstorming Bulacan province, Kiko Pangilinan hopes to bring his message of food security and farmers’ welfare

Former senator and senatorial candidate Kiko Pangilinan brought his campaign to Bulacan province on Tuesday, April 8, where he hopes to share his advocacies of food security and farmers’ and fisherfolk’s welfare.

His motorcade took him from Plaridel to Malolos, where he is scheduled to hold a political rally later at the Malolos City Hall Amphitheater.

In Plaridel, the former senator began his motorcade at the Ericahlicious Brew and Bake then proceeded to Waltermart Plaridel via the Plaridel-Pulilan Diversion Road before reaching General Alejo S. Santos Highway and finally, the Gov. Padilla Road.

Pangilinan expressed his gratitude to Plaridel town, whose community of farmers, fisherfolk, and livestock raisers would benefit greatly from the implementation of the Sagip Saka Act, a law he passed when he was senator to allow the national and local governments to purchase food directly from farmers and fisherfolk without public bidding.

Here, he was endorsed by Plaridel, Bulacan Mayor Jocell Vistan, Vice Mayor Lorie Vinta, SK Federation President Aimee San Gabriel, and the Sangguniang Bayan. He also met the officials and staff of the local government.

After Plaridel, his motorcade proceeded to the Plaridel-Malolos border before traveling along A. Mabini Street, Sumapa Ligas Road, and Brgy. Dakila.

Pangilinan’s motorcade ended at the New Malolos City Hall.

Later, a mini campaign rally will be held at the Malolos City Hall Amphitheater.

Guests include Chito Miranda, Pinky Amador, Spongecola, Color It Red, Bayang Barrios at Ang Naliyagan Band. Singer and TV host Darren Espanto, who popularized the dance moves to “Kiko Sa Puso Ko,” will also attend the mini rally.

With less than five weeks to Election Day, Pangilinan continues to deliver his campaign message, promising the implementation of the Sagip Saka Act and the introduction of a “Libreng Almusal” program for primary to senior high school students in hopes of addressing food security issues, learning gaps, and high dropout rates.

He stressed his willingness to work with all, regardless of political affiliations, saying that hunger goes beyond political colors.
