Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan on Friday expressed confidence of being able to get a majority vote in his bid to become the next Senate President.

In an interview over DWIZ, Pangilinan said he believes that due to the support of most senators to President-elect Aquino, many of his colleagues would support his candidacy.

Pangilinan also said the Liberal Party bloc in the Senate is in the process of finalizing whom they should field as a candidate for the Senate leadership in the coming 15th Congress.

He also admitted having consultation meetings with some senators whom he declined to identify.

“Iyon ang nakita natin, kaya panatag tayo at tayo ay very optimistic na dahil sa malaking suporta kay President-elect Aquino, makukuha po natin ang tiwala ng at least 13 ng ating mga kasamahan (That’s what we see that’s why we are very hopeful and very optimistic because of the huge support for Aquino, we would get the support of 13 of our colleagues),” Pangilinan said.
