KIKO: NO WITNESS PROTECTION FOR DISCAYAS IF SWORN STATEMENT IS ‘EDITED,’ ‘PHOTOSHOPPED’

Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said that there will be no witness protection for the embattled Sarah and Curlee Discaya if their sworn statement that implicated several lawmakers and government officials in the anomalous flood control projects is “edited” or “photoshopped.”

This came after the couple, whose construction firms were awarded billions of pesos worth of infrastructure projects since 2016, only gave the names of those who purportedly solicited money from the ghost or substandard projects from 2022 onwards.

“2016 pa sila sa flood control projects pero mula lang 2022 ang mga pinangalanan,” Pangilinan said in a social media post. “Hindi maaring ‘edited o photoshopped’ ang inyong sworn statement. Hindi puede ang cover up.”

“Dapat ay the WHOLE truth. Hindi puede sa witness protection ang cover up. Ang sinungaling ay kapatid ng magnanakaw,” the senator insisted.

The revelation came during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on Monday, September 8, wherein the couple read a sworn statement and said they are ready to be state witnesses in the flood control mess.

The committee is currently conducting an investigation into the alleged anomalous flood control projects and other big-ticket contracts awarded by the Department of Public Works and Highways to several contractors, among them the Discayas’ many construction firms.
