Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan says he is flattered for reportedly being mentioned as an option for the Liberal Party presidency but he says he is primarily focused on his tasks as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food.
Pangilinan is working closely with the Department of Agriculture and the Bureau of Customs to help curb the smuggling of produce, and to help make local produce be more competitive in the global market. He is also taking steps toward crafting a roadmap that will modernize the agricultural industry in the country and is pushing for the creation of stronger safety nets to protect the interests of domestic farmers and agricultural workers.
