SENATOR Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan on Friday said the 4.2% inflation in January 2021 was just an affirmation of what the Filipinos have been enduring the past months — spiraling prices of food, low or unstable income, joblessness, and stingy economic relief from government.

WITH less than eight months left before the September 30 deadline, the Senate can help the Commission on Elections (Comelec) craft guidelines for the conduct of the 2022 elections in the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said Friday.

CITING the 25-percent project accomplishment of the Department of Agriculture (DA) under Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (Bayanihan 2), Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan calls on the government to fast-track release of funds and implementation of Bayanihan 2 to help address hunger, joblessness, and the economic downturn.

THE government needs drastic changes to make its Covid response competent and graft-free in order for the Philippine economy to bounce back, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said Wednesday.

TO stabilize soaring food prices amid the still-uncontrolled spread of Covid, the government must ensure food supply and go after manipulators of food supply and prices, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said.

ON 25 JANUARY 2020, a 39-year-old Chinese tourist showed symptoms of cough and sore throat and was admitted to the San Lazaro Hospital in Manila. Five days later after tests, she was identified as the first confirmed case of Covid-19 in the Philippines.

THE worst slump for the Philippine economy since World War 2 means hunger for more Filipinos, said Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan Thursday, proposing that a people-centered agriculture be the centerpiece of the economic recovery.
