Former Senator and senatorial aspirant Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan’s candidacy continued to gain momentum as he secured endorsements from several Bulacan local officials during his visit to the province on Tuesday.

In Plaridel, Mayor Jocell Vistan, Vice Mayor Lorie Vinta, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Aimee San Gabriel, and the Sangguniang Bayan declared their backing for Pangilinan’s candidacy following a meeting with the former lawmaker.

Bocaue Mayor Jonjon Villanueva followed suit as he raised Pangilinan’s hand as a gesture of his endorsement of his Senate bid.

During their meeting, Pangilinan handed Villanueva a copy of his Sagip Saka Act, which allows the national and local governments to buy directly from farmers and fisherfolk without public bidding.

They also discussed Pangilinan’s advocacies, such as strengthening farmers’ income, ensuring food security, and making food affordable for Filipinos.

Pangilinan also earned the endorsement of Sta. Maria Mayor Omeng Ramos and his entire ticket, including Vice Mayor Eboy Juan, Councilors Neil Mateo, Fe Ramos, Carl Castillo, Mac Clemente, Jess De Guzman, and candidates Rico Sto. Domingo, Lito Jacinto, and Resty Dela Cruz.

Pangilinan began his Bulacan visit province with a motorcade from Plaridel to Malolos, where he was scheduled to hold a political rally and mini-concert later at the Malolos City Hall Amphitheater.

Expected to attend the event were Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda, Pinky Amador, Spongecola, Color It Red, Bayang Barrios, Ang Naliyagan Band, and singer/TV host Darren Espanto, who popularized the dance moves to “Kiko Sa Puso Ko.”
