INSTEAD of hiding, Sen. Panfilo Lacson should emulate detained Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV.
Sen. Francis Pangilinan stressed this yesterday as he asked Lacson to face accusations that he was involved in the abduction and killing of publicist Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito in November 2000.
“If he is innocent, then he has nothing to fear. We have a new administration whose mandate is to serve the best interest of the people,” he said.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima earlier revealed a plan to put a P2 million reward for Lacson’s arrest.
Lacson “surfaced” on Thursday through an e-mail to reporters and stood pat on his decision to continue hiding unless the lower court suspends his arrest order and the Department of Justice reinvestigates the case against him.
“Kahit nga naging senador si Senador Trillanes, patuloy pa rin siyang humarap sa kasong isinampa laban sa kaniya. Ganun din ang nararapat gawin ni senador Lacson. Kailangan niyang harapin ang kaso at mapasailalim sa sistema ng katarungan sa ating bansa,” Pangilinan said.
